Named for the Romanian word for “cloud,” the NOR Bed distills the elegance of early modernist movements into a form that is grounded, architectural, and enduring. Its proportions reflect the balance of Art Deco geometry, the honesty of Arts and Crafts construction, and the organic flow of Art Nouveau. With a tall footboard and a carved, solid oak structure, the NOR Bed brings quiet permanence to the modern home.
The carved elements, outer frame, legs, and full body of the NOR Bed are made from kiln-dried solid oak, responsibly sourced and built to endure. The flat panels of the headboard and footboard are crafted from commercial-grade plywood—chosen intentionally to prevent bowing or splitting over time.
A solid oak center rail runs the length of the frame, supported by three solid oak legs for added strength. Sixteen rows of 2”-wide solid mahogany slats (spaced 2.9” apart) create a ventilated, removable platform rated to support up to 1,000 lbs.
The headboard ships in two vertical sections for easier handling in tight stairwells, elevators, and high-rise spaces. The side rails are securely bolted to both the headboard and footboard, creating a squared, stable connection that won't loosen over time. The slats are fully removable—allowing seamless compatibility with adjustable split bed bases, a rare and important feature for today’s evolving lifestyles.
