The Paloma Chest is a celebration of poetic form and modern craftsmanship. Its carved oak doors feature a mirrored pair of doves—symbols of peace and belonging—interwoven with floral motifs. This expressive language, rooted in 1930s modernism, Art Nouveau, and Arts and Crafts traditions, offers both meaning and material presence.
Finished in a pale Sea Mist lacquer, the piece brings softness and sculptural clarity to any room. It is a versatile accent for bedrooms, hallways, or living spaces—and a natural companion to the Paloma Bed, Paloma Nightstand, and other oak pieces from the NOR and St. Lucia collections.
The frame, doors, legs, and full body are constructed from kiln-dried solid oak, designed for permanence and detailed carving. Flat side panels, the back, and the inset top panel are made from commercial-grade plywood—not for cost, but to prevent bowing or splitting, ensuring structural integrity over time.
Inside, an adjustable oak shelf provides flexible storage. The cabinet opens with modern brass cast handles and is fitted with soft-close hinges for a gentle, refined experience. The exterior is coated in a smooth Akzo Nobel lacquer finish in a custom Sea Mist tone (~15% sheen).
Though scaled as an accent piece, the Paloma Chest is both functional and poetic. It works beautifully beside the Paloma Bed, yet its oak structure and finish allow it to sit comfortably alongside the NOR and St. Lucia collections.
