The St. Lucia Bed with Low Footboard reinterprets the architectural beauty of the original into a more open, airy form—evoking elegance without excess. Rooted in the modernist movements of the 1930s and touched by a quiet sense of adventure, it offers a delicate balance between structure and softness.
A carved oak medallion anchors the headboard—a symbolic gesture of the heart—framed by natural woven rattan set into solid oak panels. Romantic in tone, sculptural in form, and built with precision, the low footboard version opens the room while maintaining the integrity of the design.
Carved from kiln-dried solid oak, the headboard and frame are sculpted with clarity and care. The natural cane rattan is hand-woven and tensioned into oak panels, creating strength through delicacy. Flat panels at the footboard are made from commercial-grade plywood—not for cost, but to eliminate warping and splitting.
A solid oak center rail and three oak support legs provide structure. Sixteen rows of removable solid mahogany slats (2” wide, spaced 2.9” apart) are rated to support up to 1,000 lbs and allow for full compatibility with adjustable split king and queen bed bases.
The headboard ships in two vertical sections for ease of delivery in tight spaces. Side rails bolt securely into both headboard and footboard, maintaining a squared and stable geometry.
The low footboard introduces a sense of lightness to the bedroom—offering comfort, openness, and the sculptural grace that defines the St. Lucia collection. It pairs beautifully with NOR and St. Lucia nightstands and dressers, unified by carved intent and quiet romance.
