St. Lucia Bed – Sculpted medallion with natural cane rattan. Inspired by the golden age of modernist escape.
A sculptural solid oak bed with a soaring carved headboard—an ode to nature, architecture, and 1930s design.
The Paloma Bed brings together the expressive clarity of early 20th-century design—merging Arts and Crafts honesty, Art Deco geometry, and the ornamental elegance of Art Nouveau. Its name, Paloma, meaning “dove,” reflects the romantic symbolism carved into each panel—a tribute to peace, nature, and permanence.
At the heart of the design is the tall 58" carved headboard, crafted from solid oak with flowing botanical motifs. The height gives the bed visual impact while allowing the form to feel light and open. Its silhouette is clean, architectural, and sculptural—anchored by craftsmanship and quiet emotion.
The carved elements, frame, legs, and full body are made from kiln-dried solid oak, sourced and built with longevity in mind. The flat panels of the headboard and footboard are crafted from commercial-grade plywood—not for cost, but to prevent bowing or splitting and ensure structural durability.
A solid oak center support rail runs the length of the frame, reinforced by three solid oak support legs. Sixteen removable solid mahogany slats (2” wide, spaced 2.9” apart) create a ventilated platform rated to support up to 1,000 lbs.
The headboard ships in two vertical sections for easier delivery into tight stairwells, elevators, and high-rise spaces. The side rails are bolted securely into both the headboard and footboard for a squared, locked fit that preserves structural geometry. The slats are fully removable, allowing seamless compatibility with adjustable split bed bases—a rare yet essential feature for modern living.
The Paloma Bed preserves the sculptural language of the collection while offering a softened silhouette and a commanding visual anchor. The carved headboard serves as both artwork and structure—designed to ground the room with proportion and presence.
It pairs naturally with the Paloma Nightstand, its carved companion in form and intent. It also complements the NOR nightstands and dressers, which share the same commitment to honest materials, purposeful proportions, and timeless design—allowing the collections to mix effortlessly across spaces.
